Valentina Shevchenko ended an 11-year submission drought with a vicious armbar win over Julianna Peña nine years ago.
She forced Peña to tap in round two of their UFC Fight Night main event in Denver.
The submission nearly broke Peña’s arm and left her grimacing in pain.
The victory earned Shevchenko a bantamweight title shot against Amanda Nunes.
She later became dominant flyweight champion from 2018 to 2023.
Shevchenko will next defend her title against Natalia Silva after UFC 324.
