Chaos Breaks Out at Madison Square Garden
Dillon Danis has been permanently banned from all UFC events after a wild brawl erupted in the crowd at UFC 322 inside Madison Square Garden. Witnesses reported that Danis became involved in a heated confrontation with members of Islam Makhachev’s team, escalating into punches thrown and security rushing into the section as fans scrambled for safety. The incident occurred before the main card began and quickly overshadowed early fights on the night’s lineup.
Dana White Says Danis Will “Never” Return
UFC CEO Dana White announced the lifetime ban shortly after the event, calling the situation “completely unacceptable” and acknowledging that he had been warned Danis could be a problem earlier in the evening. White said he regretted not removing him sooner, adding that Danis had been roaming the arena, switching seats, and instigating confrontations. After reviewing footage and speaking with security personnel, the UFC determined Danis would not be allowed to attend any future events, whether as a fighter, corner member, or spectator.
Longstanding Tensions Boil Over
The clash adds another chapter to Danis’s turbulent history with members of the Nurmagomedov camp. He was previously involved in the notorious UFC 229 post-fight melee, which stemmed from Conor McGregor’s feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov. Tensions between the camps have lingered ever since, and officials believe those hostilities contributed to the eruption in New York. While no criminal charges are expected, the UFC’s decision marks a definitive break, signaling the organization’s unwillingness to tolerate further disruptions linked to Danis.
