Tom Aspinall challenges Dana White’s view on UFC 321 fallout

    Aspinall reviews the abrupt ending
Tom Aspinall has shared his first video since UFC 321. He reflects on the night his title defense ended without a conclusion. Ciryl Gane poked both his eyes in one motion. The champion could not continue after the foul. His father later explained the extent of the injuries. Many fans demanded clearer rules and criticised the situation. Others questioned whether the stoppage came too quickly. Aspinall responded by posting medical documents and answering questions on his YouTube channel.

    Dispute over Dana White’s remarks
After the event, many discussed how officials handled the eye pokes. Dana White said at the press conference that Aspinall “didn’t want to continue.” The comment implied a personal choice rather than a medical barrier. Frustrated fans blamed Aspinall for the stoppage. He pushed back strongly in his new video. He said he refused to fight blindly against an elite striker. He stressed that the action was a foul and that he needed to protect his health. When asked if White’s words annoyed him, he laughed. Then he asked how else people should interpret them.

Focus on recovery and the future
The video highlighted that Aspinall often supported the organisation. He accepted a short-notice interim fight and waited patiently through most of 2025. Now he says his health must guide all decisions. He wants to heal fully before thinking about new plans. He will follow medical advice until he feels normal again. Only then will he consider his next step. He mentioned no return date. Still, he hopes to train again as soon as he receives clearance.
