Once billed as the UFC’s next breakout star, Sage Northcutt has taken a surprising turn in his career. The 29-year-old fighter, who rose to fame with a 6-2 record in the UFC and a reputation for flashy finishes, has officially moved into real estate.
Northcutt’s MMA journey was a rollercoaster. After signing with ONE Championship in 2019, he suffered a devastating 30-second knockout loss to Cosmo Alexandre in his debut. The defeat sidelined him for nearly four years before a triumphant return in 2023, when he secured a 39-second submission at ONE Fight Night 10.
Despite that comeback, Northcutt has not fought since and now seems focused on his new career path. His announcement this week confirmed he has joined the real estate industry, though it remains unclear whether he has permanently closed the door on MMA.
Northcutt isn’t the first fighter to make the switch. Former UFC lightweight contender Al Iaquinta also transitioned into real estate while still competing, before eventually retiring from fighting altogether. Iaquinta has since built a thriving business, saying the dedication he once gave to training now fuels his success in sales.
For Northcutt, fans are left wondering whether his foray into real estate signals the end of “Super Sage” the fighter—or simply the start of a new chapter alongside a potential MMA return in 2026.
