Paddy Pimblett hasn’t shared any social media updates since suffering the first loss of his UFC career. The Liverpool fighter, known as ‘The Baddy,’ faced Justin Gaethje on Saturday night for the interim lightweight title.
He endured heavy damage during his unanimous decision defeat to ‘The Highlight.’ The fight earned Pimblett praise and a wave of new fans, but it also required a hospital visit.
Laura Pimblett reassures fans
The UFC has not released an official statement on Pimblett’s condition. Fans worried about his health found reassurance through a social media post from his wife, Laura Pimblett. She shared a photo of the couple after UFC 324, showing their backs while hiding the damage to Pimblett’s face from Gaethje’s strikes.
Laura captioned her post with a message of relief and love: “Us forever. For everyone asking, he is absolutely fine and will be back.”
Gaethje refuses hospital visit
Pimblett stood strong in the fight against Justin Gaethje, trading blows until the final bell. Dana White asked Gaethje to visit the hospital after the fight, but the new interim lightweight champion refused.
White told the media, “Apparently, he’s 100 percent. We sent Paddy Pimblett straight to the hospital, and then we were gonna send Gaethje too, and Gaethje was like, ‘Believe me, I’ve been involved in plenty of wars, I’m good.’ As far as we know right now, he’s healthy.”
