Sanko Joins Anik and Cormier for Abu Dhabi Pay-Per-View
Laura Sanko will replace veteran commentator Joe Rogan on the broadcast team for UFC 321, set to take place on October 25 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Rogan, who traditionally does not travel for international events, will sit out the card as Sanko joins Jon Anik and Daniel Cormier on commentary, with John Gooden reporting from cageside.
High-Profile Opportunity for Sanko
The assignment marks Sanko’s second time serving as a commentator on a UFC pay-per-view, following her debut at UFC 293 in Australia. She acknowledged feeling the pressure of stepping in for one of the sport’s most recognized voices but said she was eager to deliver a polished performance. “There’s a whole audience that isn’t used to hearing me,” Sanko said, adding that she’s relying on preparation and chemistry with her broadcast partners.
Stacked Card Headlined by Heavyweight Title Fight
UFC 321 will feature heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall defending his title against Ciryl Gane in the main event. In the co-main bout, Virna Jandiroba faces Mackenzie Dern for the vacant strawweight championship, promising fans a strong lineup for the promotion’s return to “Fight Island.”
