Steroid Metabolite Detected in September Sample
UFC strawweight contender Iasmin Lucindo has been sidelined after a drug screening conducted in September detected metabolites tied to the banned steroid mesterolone. The provisional suspension forced her withdrawal from a planned December 13 matchup.
Team Attributes Result to Possible Supplement Issue
Lucindo’s representatives insist the finding does not reflect intentional use. They note she recorded clean tests surrounding the disputed sample and argue the irregular pattern suggests an outside source. Two products she regularly used during training have been forwarded to an independent laboratory to determine whether a tainted supplement could explain the result.
Review Process Moving Forward
According to her team, they are cooperating with all relevant anti-doping officials and regulatory bodies as the case moves ahead. Additional testing, including potential B-sample analysis, and a commission review are expected before any final decision on penalties is made.
