“Triple C” will face an Octagon legend he has never competed against before. Henry Cejudo retired after a loss to Payton Talbott at UFC 323 last month. He announced before the fight that the bout would be his final appearance. The 38-year-old built a remarkable MMA career after transitioning from wrestling. He became a simultaneous two-division UFC champion during his prime years.
Cejudo also holds ambitions outside combat sports. He wanted to pursue those goals after delivering a strong farewell performance. His retirement, however, did not last long. Recent announcements confirmed that “Triple C” plans a swift return to competition.
Henry Cejudo Set to Face Urijah Faber at RAF06
Organizers announced that Henry Cejudo will headline RAF06 in Tempe on February 26. The event takes place at the Mullett Arena in Arizona. “Triple C” joins several UFC stars who returned to wrestling roots. He will compete under the Real American Freestyle banner.
Cejudo first retired from MMA in 2020. He attempted a comeback three years later. That return ended with four consecutive losses. His upcoming opponent shares a similar history. That fighter also returned after stepping away from top-level competition.
Urijah Faber Brings Hall of Fame Pedigree
Urijah Faber exited MMA with a win over Brad Pickett in 2016. He later ended his career following a knockout loss to Petr Yan in December 2019. The 46-year-old remains a respected UFC Hall of Famer. He continued competing in grappling after leaving MMA.
Faber secured two grappling victories in 2024. He defeated Bibiano Fernandes and Jeff Glover during that run. His next outing brings a clash with Cejudo. Both veterans now meet in a non-MMA setting with significant attention.
Muhammad Mokaev Added to Stacked RAF06 Card
Officials previously confirmed Clay Guida for RAF06 on February 26. They have not yet announced his opponent. Real American Freestyle instead revealed another high-profile matchup. Former UFC flyweight Muhammad Mokaev will face Bryce Meredith.
The 25-year-old Mokaev posted a perfect 7-0 record inside the Octagon. He departed the promotion amid controversy in 2024. He last competed for BRAVE CF. Mokaev stopped Gerard Burns with a head kick knockout in round two to claim the vacant flyweight title.
