BKFC 84 sets the stage for the biggest fight of Josh Dyer’s career. He will defend his light heavyweight title against longtime rival Lorenzo Hunt. Their heated rematch lands on November 15. Dyer spoke on Bare Knuckle Bowker and explained why this second meeting means so much.

Memories of a punishing first fight

Dyer reflected on their first clash and said Hunt had “taken a piece of his soul” that night. He now aims to reclaim it. The loss struck him hard on every level. The beating pushed him beyond physical and mental limits. That painful night inspired Dyer to build a new bare-knuckle style. The new approach eventually guided him to championship gold and back to the only man who ever beat him without gloves.

    A career-defining moment

Dyer said this rematch feels like the most important fight of his life. Hunt delivered his only defeat in this sport. Dyer described the loss as brutal and unforgettable. Now he embraces the chance to change everything. His team stands fully behind him. Friends and fans buzz with excitement. Many want to see him settle the score. For Dyer, this opportunity carries tremendous weight.

The small purse behind their first meeting

In another interview, Dyer revealed he earned only five thousand dollars for their first fight. When asked playfully if he now earns more, he said his knockout bonus alone exceeds that amount. He added that he understands Hunt’s strengths far better now. The first fight never justified the small paycheck. His emergency room bill reached thirteen thousand dollars. He said he treated the negotiations for the rematch much more seriously.
