Conor McGregor predicts Jake Paul will leave the ring a very different man tomorrow night.
After years of fighting much smaller or older opponents, Paul now faces Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center. The two-time unified heavyweight champion is 36 but remains a dominant force at the top of the division. Joshua had been planning a secret comeback fight this month before accepting a short-notice Netflix offer to face Paul in America. McGregor believes Joshua can seriously damage the social media star.
McGregor’s betting slip raises eyebrows
McGregor grabbed attention on X by revealing he set odds for Joshua to stop Jake Paul within the first 60 seconds. He emphasized he has not placed a personal bet yet but sees the YouTuber in real danger.
“I have set the odds for Anthony Joshua to KO Jake Paul inside the first 60 seconds at 11/1,” McGregor wrote on X, promoting a betting company. Fans noted a supposed $10 bet seemed small. McGregor explained it only demonstrated the massive odds.
“I have not placed my own personal bet yet. I have only set the odds. I do like ‘KO in first 60 seconds’ at 11/1. Now it’s about how much or what else? A big sum on an outright win is good too. $5 million would return $5.6 million. This is an absolute layup fight. It is not fixed. Jake is stupid and will change permanently from this bout. I can’t just watch it happen without making a profit too.”
McGregor recalls his own fast knockouts
Fans questioned a 60-second knockout. McGregor reminded them of his own quick victories. “I done Cowboy [Donald Cerrone] in 40 seconds. Dustin in 60. Aldo in 12. All were reputable, world and title challengers. Cowboy was taller and heavier. I knew his shots, reactions, and mentality. Paul is lighter, shorter, and inexperienced compared to AJ. Sixty seconds is more than enough. Eleven to one actually scares me.”
“I am now setting odds using my own company’s capital. Betting to win feels different than before. It’s unusual but exciting. Either way, it’s f—ing awesome! Lol.”
