In front of a roaring home crowd, Benoit Saint Denis delivered a career-defining performance. He finished rising star Mauricio Ruffy in the UFC Paris co-main event. Fans and fighters reacted immediately, praising the dominant display.

    Fast Start Sets The Tone

Saint Denis began aggressively, pressing Ruffy against the cage within seconds. The fight quickly moved to the ground. Saint Denis secured a full mount just 60 seconds in. He attempted to take Ruffy’s back, but Ruffy resisted and returned the fight to the feet. Saint Denis maintained pressure, bringing the fight back to the mat and controlling the action. An accidental low blow briefly paused the bout, but Saint Denis stayed composed. He ended the round by controlling Ruffy on the feet, leaving a clear statement of dominance.

    Second-Round Submission Ends The Fight

Saint Denis continued to dominate in the second round. He scored a takedown and immediately transitioned to a rear-naked choke. Ruffy could not escape, and Saint Denis secured the submission. The victory marks Saint Denis’ second straight win by submission. He has now claimed seven victories in his last nine fights, cementing his rising status in the UFC.

    Ruffy’s Undefeated Run Halted

Mauricio Ruffy suffered only the second loss of his professional MMA career. He entered the fight with a perfect 3-0 UFC record. Ruffy came off a head-kick knockout of King Green at UFC 313, making the defeat at Paris a significant setback. Fans and analysts immediately noted Saint Denis’ skill and composure as a decisive factor in the outcome.
