Sean O’Malley says he has not heard from the UFC about fighting at the planned White House event on June 14.
UFC president Dana White recently stated that matchmaking for the historic card is already underway.
Ari Emanuel confirmed that only six or seven fights will feature on the card.
That limited lineup increases competition for roster spots.
Many fighters want to appear at the one-off event in Washington, D.C.
O’Malley admitted he has received no call from the promotion.
He said the event is still months away but acknowledged uncertainty about his involvement.
He remains one of the UFC’s most recognizable stars, yet no bout has been announced.
A rematch with Petr Yan would be a logical option.
However, the bantamweight title picture remains complicated by Merab Dvalishvili.
Another possible opponent is Umar Nurmagomedov.
Nurmagomedov’s manager recently said O’Malley is not avoiding that matchup.
For now, O’Malley waits for confirmation while the UFC finalizes its historic White House event.
