Umar Nurmagomedov Denied Spotlight After Dominant UFC 324 Win as Broadcast Moves On

Umar Nurmagomedov delivered a dominant, clear-cut decision victory over Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 324, winning every round and strengthening his case for a title shot against bantamweight champion Petr Yan.

Despite the performance, Nurmagomedov was notably denied a post-fight interview. Instead of remaining in the Octagon for the usual reaction, the broadcast abruptly shifted focus to an on-air announcement that Dominick Cruz will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2026. Nurmagomedov was left standing in the cage with his team as the moment played out, visibly missing the chance to speak or call out his next opponent.

Meanwhile, Figueiredo’s camp explained his weight miss ahead of the fight, with manager Alex Davis citing travel disruptions, lack of sleep and exhaustion following flight delays.
