Just days before the official weigh-in for UFC 324, Paddy Pimblett has shared a confident update. The English fighter says his weight cut is on track. UFC returns this Saturday after a short break. The promotion launches its year with UFC 324. The event features an interim lightweight title fight. Justin Gaethje faces Paddy Pimblett in the main event.

The announcement sparked heavy debate among fans. Many questioned the matchup immediately. Critics argued neither fighter deserved a title opportunity. Despite the backlash, attention quickly shifted to Pimblett. His preparation always draws intense scrutiny.

Weight Concerns Follow Pimblett Into Every Fight Week

Pimblett’s weight remains a constant talking point before fights. He gains significant mass outside training camps. Reports often note increases of more than 50 pounds. Fans regularly worry about the risks involved. These concerns resurface before every appearance.

Pimblett has delivered consistency throughout his career. He has never missed weight as a professional. His career began in the bantamweight division. He later moved to featherweight. He eventually settled at lightweight. His record continues to support his approach.

Pimblett Shares Positive Update Ahead of Official Weigh-In

On Tuesday evening, Pimblett addressed his current condition. He compared this weight cut to previous fights. His tone suggested confidence and comfort. He appeared relaxed during the update.

“I still have weight to lose, but less than before the Chandler fight,” Pimblett said. “I’m flying right now.” He emphasized how good he feels. The comments aimed to ease lingering doubts. The 31-year-old sounded convinced by his preparation.

Early Fight Date Leaves Pimblett Frustrated

Despite the smooth weight cut, Pimblett expressed frustration. He criticized the early timing of the bout. He explained how the schedule affected his personal life. The impact extended beyond training.

“I’ve never fought this early in the year,” Pimblett said. He made his stance clear for the future. He ruled out January or February fights. He said the camp ruined Christmas and his birthday. He wants the promotion to respect that decision.

Title Picture Unclear After Topuria Proposal Rejected

The UFC expects the main event winner to earn a title shot. Ilia Topuria currently holds the undisputed lightweight belt. The champion recently announced plans for a break in 2026. He aims to return between April and June.

Topuria proposed a title unification date to Pimblett. Pimblett declined the offer. He said he could afford to wait. He noted Topuria previously made him wait. The response keeps the division’s future uncertain. Pimblett appears content to be patient.
