Former UFC star Darren Till strongly criticized Ian Machado Garry following his backstage clash with Khamzat Chimaev.
Garry had secured an impressive win over Belal Muhammad in the co-main event at UFC Qatar. After the fight, he called out Islam Makhachev, which led to a brief confrontation with Chimaev. Initially, the incident seemed harmless, but tensions quickly escalated. Both fighters shared their perspectives, with Garry openly criticizing Chimaev and the way the encounter unfolded.
Till calls out Garry’s attitude
Darren Till, a close friend of Chimaev, shared his views on social media. He acknowledged Garry’s talent but slammed his character. Till described Garry as “fake beyond all beliefs” and difficult to like. He added that he tried to force himself to appreciate Garry, but found it impossible.
Till contrasted Garry with Chimaev, noting that Garry appeared nervous during their interaction. He said Chimaev reminded him of himself, and that similarity had forged their friendship.
A skilled fighter with major personality issues
Till continued his criticism, calling Garry unlikeable and fake. He mentioned previous conflicts Garry had in gyms and highlighted his negative comments about other fighters. Till concluded that Garry’s attitude undermines his talent. While Garry remains a skilled fighter, Till emphasized that his behavior makes him hard to respect.
