    Chaos Erupts After Exhibition Match

MMA veteran Wanderlei Silva was left with a fractured nose following a violent brawl that broke out after his exhibition boxing match against former champion Acelino “Popó” Freitas. The fight ended in the fourth round when Silva was disqualified for repeated head-butts. Immediately after the decision, members of both camps entered the ring, sparking a chaotic confrontation that quickly escalated into punches and strikes.

    Silva Struck During Melee

During the altercation, Silva was hit in the face, reportedly by Rafael Freitas, and knocked unconscious. He received immediate medical attention, including treatment for the fractured nose and facial lacerations. Silva later described severe headaches and trauma to one eye, prompting further medical evaluation.

    Suspensions and Legal Fallout

The Brazilian National Boxing Council has handed out suspensions: Silva and Freitas each received a 180-day ban from sanctioned events, while Silva’s coach received a 365-day suspension. The incident has sparked discussions on fighter safety and security measures at events, and Silva’s team has indicated they plan to pursue criminal complaints related to the assault.
