Michael Chandler Believes He’ll Finally Face Conor McGregor at UFC White House

UFC veteran Michael Chandler insists he still believes in a fight against Conor McGregor, possibly at next year’s UFC White House event.

For years, Chandler has pursued a showdown with McGregor. The fight has come close multiple times but never materialized. Now, with UFC president Dana White hinting that McGregor may return, the matchup could be back on the agenda.

Next summer, UFC plans a major event at the White House. Chandler sees it as the perfect stage to finally meet the Irish star in the octagon.

Chandler sees the White House as the ideal stage

“I think we’re closer now than ever before,” Chandler told MMA Fighting about McGregor’s potential return. “I’ve always said don’t bet on him coming back, but now the situation changes everything.”

Chandler added, “In my heart, I think I’m fighting Conor McGregor at the White House. That makes sense for many reasons.”

    Unfinished business drives Chandler

“First and foremost, I want the White House fight,” Chandler said. “Ideally, if it’s Conor, that would be incredible. We have unfinished business. I respect him, he respects me, but there’s still work to do.”

Chandler highlighted McGregor’s own interest in the fight. “He put out that meme—well, an A.I. image—of us together. He called me out on Twitter and said we have unfinished business, and that’s true,” Chandler added.

The UFC White House event could finally deliver one of the most anticipated matchups in recent MMA history.
