Boxing Olympic champion Lin Yuting will take the World Boxing gender test before the Liverpool World Championship.
Her coach, Tseng Tzuchiang, confirmed the decision to AFP.
Lin and Algerian boxer Imane Khelif sparked gender debates at the Paris Olympics.
The suspended IBA excluded both from the 2023 World Championship over alleged testosterone test failures.
The IOC allowed them to compete in Paris, considering the passport-listed gender as decisive.
World Boxing Enforces New Testing Rule
World Boxing confirmed the mandatory gender test for all female-category boxers two weeks before the World Championship.
The federation said the rule ensures participant safety and equal conditions for men and women.
Athletes over 18 must complete a PCR test or equivalent genetic screening to determine their biological sex.
The regulation took effect on Wednesday and applies to all eligible competitors.
Olympic Controversy Sparks Policy
Olympic debates in Paris 2024 around Lin and Khelif triggered the new regulations.
The IBA excluded both boxers from the 2023 World Championship, citing alleged competitive advantages over other women.
The IOC criticized the IBA decision as arbitrary and allowed the athletes to compete in Paris.
The IOC emphasized that passport-listed gender determines competition eligibility.
Both Lin and Khelif won gold at the Olympics.
It remains unclear whether Khelif will comply with the test or challenge the rule.
IOC and Future Boxing Governance
The IOC recognized World Boxing as the official boxing federation in February.
World Boxing organized tournaments in Paris 2024 and Tokyo 2020 after the IBA suspension.
The organization will also manage boxing at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
