During his UFC career, Khabib Nurmagomedov rejected a major offer to fight boxing champion Floyd Mayweather.
The Eagle retired nearly five years ago after defeating Justin Gaethje and became a top coach.
He now trains fighters like Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov while continuing to turn down return offers.
Khabib was offered the Mayweather fight, but he refused because it would allow only boxing, no wrestling.
His coach Javier Mendez confirmed the offer, saying Khabib considered it but ultimately declined.
Mayweather later fought Khabib’s rival Conor McGregor in 2017 in one of boxing’s biggest events.
Khabib was often criticized for striking, relying mainly on his wrestling and grappling skills.
Joe Rogan recently suggested Khabib should have retired with a 29-1 record, disputing a close 2012 fight against Gleison Tibau.
Despite debates, Khabib remains one of the few GOATs to retire undefeated in mixed martial arts.
