Jon Niermann is a partner at Vinson & Elkins and a key member of the firm’s Environmental and Natural Resources practice. His career spans decades of environmental law and policy work. Niermann also served nearly ten years as Chairman and Commissioner of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). In this role, he managed project permitting, enforcement, and the execution of state and federal environmental laws.
Before leading TCEQ, Niermann held leadership positions at the Texas Attorney General’s Office. His work consistently bridged the fields of law, policy, and environmental protection.
