India sent a 20-member team to the first World Boxing event under the 2023 breakaway governing body. The squad won three medals, marking a global breakthrough. Nupur secured the first medal for India in Liverpool, becoming the nation’s trailblazer.

“I won my medal before the others. I felt proud representing my country,” Nupur told ANI after returning to Delhi. Her success inspired the team, later earning gold for Jaismine and Minakshi Hooda.

    Tense Final Ends in Silver

Nupur faced Poland’s Agata Kaczmarska in the final, losing 2-3. Her height and reach advantage could not overcome Kaczmarska’s aggression and body shots. A decisive uppercut in the final round shifted momentum. Exhausted after three rounds, Nupur claimed silver in her first World Championships final.

    Silver Fuels World Cup Ambition

Nupur now focuses on the World Cup in November. “After silver at the World Championships, I will fight for gold in the World Cup,” she vowed. She trains with determination, aiming to bring more glory to India.
