Charles Oliveira Spends Big to Bring His ‘Dream’ Exotic Animals to His $1M Mansion

UFC star Charles Oliveira has never shied away from indulging in the luxuries his hard-earned success has brought him. The Brazilian fighter, known for his record-breaking performances and thrilling finishes inside the Octagon, has used part of his fortune to fulfill a lifelong dream — owning rare exotic birds.

Fresh off his submission win over Mateusz Gamrot, Oliveira added yet another post-fight bonus to his long list of accolades, extending his record for the most bonuses in UFC history. Earlier this year, the former lightweight champion gave fans a glimpse into how he enjoys the rewards of his fighting career — including the stunning $1 million mansion he owns in Guarujá, Brazil.

In a tour of his home filmed by Full Violence before his UFC 317 appearance, Oliveira showcased his collection of memorabilia, trophies, and personal photos. But the real highlight lay outside, near the home of Brazilian football icon Neymar — two rare Cacatua birds that he had imported all the way from Australia.

“Since I was a kid, I dreamt of having these,” Oliveira said during the tour. “It’s Cacatua. I had to have one, but it costs a lot of money. I knew once I had the money for it, I’d get one — so now we got it.”

The birds, which can cost anywhere between $50,000 and $80,000, are among Oliveira’s proudest possessions. Their arrival marked the fulfillment of a childhood dream and a symbol of how far he’s come since his early days in the favelas of São Paulo.

    A Fighter’s Wild Ambitions

Oliveira also revealed that he once considered following in the footsteps of boxing legend Mike Tyson by owning tigers. However, practical and ethical concerns made him abandon the idea.

“You can’t have them here,” he explained. “Some time ago, I built everything on the farm to be able to have them, but man, they eat a lot. I made the stuff to be able to have them, but there’s no way. I’m not around much — I’d have to leave them with my parents, so I can’t.”

Despite shelving his tiger plans, Oliveira’s growing collection of exotic birds and animals reflects the softer side of one of MMA’s most dangerous finishers — a fighter who has not only conquered the Octagon but also built a life filled with the things he once only dreamed of.
