McGregor prepares for long-awaited comeback
Conor McGregor has not fought since breaking his leg in a trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. The 37-year-old plans to return at the UFC White House event in June. First, McGregor must negotiate a new contract with the promotion. His previous deal became obsolete after the UFC signed a $7.7 billion broadcast agreement with Paramount, ending the traditional pay-per-view system.
“I’m entering negotiations with the UFC in February,” McGregor said. “The company’s new deal with Paramount quadrupled its profits. My old contract relied on PPV sales, which no longer exist. I generated the highest PPV numbers of all time. I deserve a new agreement.”
McGregor added that he remains eager to finalize terms and return to competition. “I’m very interested to see how the talks go,” he said, emphasizing his commitment to making a triumphant comeback.
