Jake Paul will still step into the ring in 2025 — but not against Gervonta Davis. The highly anticipated event, set for November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, has been officially canceled.
The decision follows new civil allegations against Davis, who now faces a lawsuit for alleged abuse.
Promotion confirms cancellation and future plans
Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, said the company acted carefully in light of the situation. “Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this responsibly,” he explained. Bidarian confirmed that Jake Paul will still headline a major boxing event on Netflix in 2025.
He added that details about the new date, opponent, and location will be announced soon. Bidarian also thanked Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their support.
“Most Valuable Promotions appreciates the continued backing from our athletes, partners, sponsors, and fans as we finalize our updated plans,” the statement read.
Davis faces new accusations of violence
Davis’ ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, has accused the boxer of serious crimes. She alleges battery, kidnapping, and false imprisonment following an incident on October 27 at a strip club.
According to Rossel, Davis attacked her in a back room before dragging her outside to a parking garage, where the assault allegedly continued.
These are not new accusations for Davis. He previously faced domestic violence-related charges in February 2020, December 2022, and again in July 2025. Rossel claims she endured multiple instances of abuse during their brief relationship.
Jake Paul expected to fight before end of year
Despite the cancellation, Jake Paul still plans to fight before the end of 2025. Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions confirmed that preparations for a new matchup are already underway.
Possible opponents include Terence Crawford, Ryan Garcia, and Francis Ngannou. A rematch with Nate Diaz also remains a possibility.
Paul’s camp aims to keep momentum strong as they look to secure a new headline event that will still attract major attention in the boxing world.
