Tyson Fury insisted he has no reason to return to boxing, even for £1 billion. The 37-year-old retired in January after losing to Oleksandr Usyk for the second time. He previously hinted at comebacks, similar to his short-lived 2022 retirement, while his promoter Frank Warren recently claimed Fury plans to fight next year.
In an interview with FurociTV, Fury said he feels no motivation to step back into the ring. He explained that after 25 years of taking punches, he sees no purpose in returning.
Fury Says Wealth and Titles No Longer Matter
Fury admitted he once fought for money and championships but now feels no satisfaction from either. He stated that he has more money than he could ever spend and countless belts that bring him no happiness.
He described the pursuit of success as more fulfilling than achieving it, saying the climb felt better than standing on the mountain’s peak. Fury added that he could fight again at any moment but chooses not to.
Promoters Discuss Return Despite Fury’s Stance
Fury said he has no interest in fame, attention, or punishment, claiming none of it excites him anymore. He emphasized that even a £1 billion offer could not change his mind, as he no longer cares about outside opinions or public approval.
In July, Fury announced an April 2026 trilogy bout with Usyk after Saudi matchmaker Turki Alalshikh declared his comeback. Earlier this month, Warren told DAZN that Fury expressed a desire to fight again next year.
Fury has also been linked to a long-anticipated “Battle of Britain” with Anthony Joshua, a matchup both fighters still hope to complete before retiring permanently.
