The Middle East Professional Boxing (MEPB) held a two-day Professional Cutman Certification Course on October 4-5.
The Donatello Hotel in Dubai hosted the intensive training, advancing boxing safety and professionalism in the region.
The course aimed to elevate standards and improve fighter safety across Middle Eastern professional boxing.
Expert Instructors Lead Advanced Training
Renowned cutman Denis Kolesnik led the course, sharing hands-on expertise with participants.
Neil Scott from NAS Medical/Ringside Medics flew in from the UK to provide medical guidance and protocols.
Scott, MEPB medical advisor, also serves as Chief Medical Officer for major events like Riyadh Season Boxing.
The curriculum included cornerman protocols, hand-wrapping techniques, and facial injury management for professional bouts.
Regional Participants Embrace Certification
Thirty participants attended, many traveling specifically to earn professional cutman certification.
MEPB President Jose Mohan praised the attendees’ dedication and the event’s success.
He highlighted MEPB’s mission to continually raise boxing standards through workshops on refereeing, judging, and medical practices.
The organisation plans additional professional training events to strengthen elite boxing across the Middle East.
